SDCA holds 15th Capping, Pinning, and Lighting Ceremony

The BS Nursing batch 2021 of St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) held its 15th Capping, Pinning, and Lighting ceremony, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Meadowood Executive Village, Bacoor, Cavite, October 24.

Dr. Gregorio Andaman Jr., SDCA president, left an advice to the 25 nursing sophies to love the profession they have chosen as they will be entering new and bigger responsibilities in their clinical duties.

With this year’s theme: “SDCA NURSES AT THE FOREFRONT: In providing Nursing Care through Service, Dynamism, Competence, and Accountability”, Mr. Emuelle V. Gan, an alumnus of SDCA and now a registered nurse and a certified radiology nurse stressed out the essentials of developing the right attitude towards the nursing profession using the SDCA formula, S for service, D for dynamism, C for competence and A for accountability.

The capping, pinning, and lighting ceremony is a tradition done annually for 2nd year nursing students as a symbol of recognition that they have earned and qualified to partake in clinical duties. Students’ efforts are recognized through baccalaureate mass and affirming their commitment to the nursing profession.
