The Pikemen players took off against the Alumni and dominated the first half of the game with a score of 26, leaving behind the Team Alumni with 5 points. Leading scorers were Josiah Fordan (9) with 17 points and Christian Lim (8) with 18 points. Fordan of Team Alumni led their team and followed up to make an effort to match the performance of the Team Pikemen. With the defense and offensive plans of both teams, the game’s momentum was generated around the halfway point of the third quarter, in a close-range score in favor of SDCA Alumni, 61-58.

The team Pikemen strengthened their offense and defense that Coach Tim Sibuon, coach of SDCA Pikemen instilled in them. Both teams came up to secure the victory ..., but the last 2 minutes of play were intense after the Pikemen caught up to the Alumni with 4 points. But unfortunately, the Pikemen fell short by 1 point, causing the Alumni Team to win.

At the end of the game, the SDCA Pikemen put in a lot of effort over the milestone they were preparing for, as for the Team Alumni, they enjoyed the game, gave guidance, and challenged upcoming head-on ga mes with the Pikemen.

As part of the week-long celebration of the SDCA’s 19th Founding Anniversary, the whole community participated in igniting the vision further by beating the heat on an early morning exercise while fostering unity and positivity, while helping the adopted communities as well.

Dominicans proved that they are not just academically prepared but also have what it takes to show how physically healthy they are in the Zumbayanihan Contest 2022, where different departments represented by 25 students each danced their way to winning the inter-school competition at SDCA Grounds, November 26.

This activity was organized by Ms. Amelia Bañega, the chair of the said contest. With the theme TikTok Mashups, representatives from five schools along with the assigned faculty members, were given approximately one week to prepare for their moves to the most popular dance compilation trend in Tiktok, a shortform video hosting service consisting of a variety of user-submitted videos.

The overall champion of the Zumbayanihan Contest was snatched by SNAHS with the supervision of Prof. Alejo Lupac;, followed by SMLS under Prof. Ma. Isabel Mojica; SASE spearheaded by Prof. Armand Aton was awarded 2nd Runner Up, SBCS was 3rd Runner Up by Prof. Marvin Palce; and SIHTM bagged 4th Runner Up with Prof. Quilbert Mercado’s direction.

Indeed, Dominicans showed how talented they are as they uphold the core value of dynamism, which was exhibited throughout this activity.
