DLRC Expansion 2017

The Dominican Learning Resource Center (DLRC) is having an expansion and a new makeover to accommodate the increasing number of Dominicans and for the overall benefit of the school community.

According to the Chief Librarian of the DLRC, Ms. Laila R. Ariate, the renovation started during the second week of June and is expected to be finished by the end of August.

In line with the expansion, the DLRC will have new features and will offer new services such as the Language Learning Nook, the DLRC Knowledge Exchange Wall, E-Books overdrive, the Dominican Online Research Assistant (DORA), E-Career Pathfinder, and the Library blog. The DLRC also improved the availability of the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to the four schools: School of Arts, Sciences, and Education (SASE), School of Business and Computer Studies (SBCS), School of Health Science Professions (SHSP), and School of International and Hospitality Management (SIHTM), and now can be gained access by the Deans, Program chairs, and faculty members of SDCA.

Under PACUCOA standards, the required library space is 316.2 square meters. From a land area of 229-meter square, the DLRC’s expansion had added 380.649-meter square, exceeding the requirement mark, and will continue to pursue a609.649-meter square. The facility will have a wider perspective not only in terms of space but also there will be a new and bigger variety of quality books and equipment.
